so yesterday night I got my first taste of the art scene here in washington dc that doesn’t involve crowds of tourists or the name ‘smithsonian.’ every first friday of the month (hence the name) the multitude of art galleries in dupont circle stay open from 6-8pm and have a gallery opening for a new artist(s). they serve wine and snacks and most have live music! cherry on top? it’s only a 10 minute walk from my new job :) guess i know what i’ll be doing every first friday of the month!
