one fine day

Yesterday I had the urge to get out and get some “me time.” I had this great plan to get housekeeping things done early so I could fully enjoy a day of riding my bike around Capitol Hill, get some photography in, go to the Rothko Exhibit at the East wing of the National Art Museum, and then hopefully see some photography at the West wing. I say I “had” these great plans because somehow the world just worked against me yesterday and most of the things I really wanted to do, well, flopped. First off, the pedal crank on my bike broke at right about the capitol steps, I walk the rest of the way to get to the tower of the East wing to find that my Rothko exhibit (which I had seen once already so it’s really not that bad, but still) had been taken down and they were in the process of putting up a different show. Then I head to the West wing in hopes of seeing some inspiring photography exhibits and the ONE they have is closed. F. At that point I just couldn’t really stomach sitting down to read my book. However, I’m really just complaining-I did in fact get out of the house, see some great art (whether it be what I intended to go see or not), and take some photos. I think I just realized that I didn’t really want anymore “me time” I actually just wanted a little “hubs time.” Is that too much to ask? I think Law school just scoffed at me :)

Well, anyway. Here’s some photos from my “me day”. This is the East Wing with the beautiful missing Rothko exhibit (ok, and some other really beautiful art as well).

And here’s the West Wing with the closed photography exhibit.

And here’s two photos from the hour Law School decided to relinquish my husband from it’s dungeon where we got to spend a little “us time.” And by “us” I do in fact mean Jonathan, me, AND Jude, but Jonathan took all the pictures :) It was only an hour, but it was such a good hour.
